Utah's capital and most populous city, Salt Lake City boasts a small-town feel, big-city amenities, and plenty of nature on its doorstep.
Step out of the city life by going to Deer Valley Resort and Backcountry Snowmobiling. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Park City Mountain Resort and Ski Butlers Park City. Change things up with these side-trips from Salt Lake City: Sundance Resort (in Wallsburg) and North Forty Escapes (in Oakley). There's lots more to do: make a trip to Temple Square, see the interesting displays at Land Cruiser Heritage Museum, tour the pleasant surroundings at Lake Blanche Trail, and explore the stunning scenery at Millcreek Canyon.
