Ocean Springs is a city in Jackson County, Mississippi, United States, approximately 2mi east of Biloxi and west of Gautier. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Walter Anderson Museum of Art and Shearwater Pottery. Fort Morgan State Historic Site and Landrum's Homestead & Village are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Venture out of the city with trips to Red Bluff (in Foxworth), Hattiesburg (Hattiesburg Zoo & African American Military History Museum) and Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge (in Gulf Shores). Spend the 17th (Mon) exploring nature at Tuxachanie National Recreation Trail. There's still lots to do: identify plant and animal life at Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge, tee off at Shell Landing Golf Course, visit a coastal fixture at Round Island Lighthouse, and view the masterpieces at Coastal Magpie.
