Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Escape the urban bustle at Alki Beach and Puget Sound Express. There's much more to do: enjoy breathtaking views from Space Needle, see the interesting displays at The Museum of Flight, stroll around Waterfall Garden Park, and take in the exciting artwork at Chihuly Garden and Glass.

Atlanta to Seattle is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time to Pacific Standard Time, which is usually a -3 hour difference. Traveling by flight from Seattle to Friday Harbor takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of shuttle and flight; or ride a ferry. Traveling from Seattle in May, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be a bit cooler in Friday Harbor, with lows of 45°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sat) so you can travel to Olympic National Park.
