A tiny town with big tourist appeal, Pigeon Forge bills itself as the "Center of Fun in the Smokies." Just a short drive from the national park protecting the diverse plant and animal life of the Great Smoky Mountains, the town features numerous places to visit, such as bars, restaurants, cafes, theaters, and shops.
For shopping fun, head to The Old Mill or Heartwood Galleries. Step out of the city life by going to Walker Sisters' Cabin and Noah Bud Ogle Cabin. Explore Pigeon Forge's surroundings by going to Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Chimney Tops Trail, Mount LeConte, & more), Emerts Cove Covered Bridge (in Sevierville) and River Rafting & Tubing (in Hartford). Known as the capital of country music, the thriving city of Nashville combines old-world southern charm with a progressive urban flair.
On the 7th (Sun), immerse yourself in nature at Radnor Lake State Park, contemplate the long history of Lotz House Museum, and then stroll through Centennial Park. On the next day, steep yourself in history at Andrew Jackson's Hermitage, then examine the collection at RCA Studio B, and then take a stroll through Downtown Nashville.
