A tiny town with big tourist appeal, Pigeon Forge bills itself as the "Center of Fun in the Smokies." Just a short drive from the national park protecting the diverse plant and animal life of the Great Smoky Mountains, the town features numerous places to visit, such as bars, restaurants, cafes, theaters, and shops.
You'll explore and learn at Bush's Beans Visitor Center and Master's Editions Gallery of Light. Museum of Appalachia and Old Forge Distillery are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Venture out of the city with trips to Bald River Falls (in Tellico Plains), Abrams Falls Trail (in Great Smoky Mountains National Park) and Ijams Nature Center (in Knoxville). There's lots more to do: examine the collection at Alcatraz East Crime Museum, look for all kinds of wild species at ABR's Visitor & Education Center, stop by Christmas Place, and admire all the interesting features of Cherohala Skyway.

Gatlinburg is just a stone's throw from Pigeon Forge. In June in Gatlinburg, expect temperatures between 86°F during the day and 66°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Tue) so you can go by car to Nashville.
