Galveston — 2 nights

An old colonial city and a busy cruise ship port less than an hour's drive from Houston, Galveston sits on Galveston Island and serves as a popular vacation destination for both domestic and international travelers.
Change things up with a short trip to Kemah Boardwalk in Kemah (about 38 minutes away). There's still lots to do: appreciate the extensive heritage of The Seawall, browse the exhibits of Galveston Historic Seaport - Home of the 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA, steep yourself in history at Moody Mansion, and take a stroll through The Strand.
