Kick off your visit on the 14th (Sun): pause for some serene contemplation at Washington National Cathedral and then contemplate the waterfront views at Tidal Basin. Here are some ideas for day two: learn more about the world around you at Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, examine the collection at National Air and Space Museum, then appreciate the extensive heritage of The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and finally pause for some photo ops at Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

A major center for tourism and travel, Baltimore is famous as the city where amateur poet Francis Scott Key wrote the lyrics for the United States' national anthem.
Visiting Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine and Devils Den will get you outdoors. Popular historic sites such as Gettysburg National Military Park and Little Round Top are in your itinerary. Get in touch with nature at Speed Boats Tours and Hamilton Grange National Memorial. Visit 9/11 Memorial and Trinity Church for their historical value. Take a train from Baltimore to New York City in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or fly. In July, plan for daily highs up to 86°F, and evening lows to 72°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Mon) to allow enough time to travel to Boston.
