Discover out-of-the-way places like Kings Mountain National Military Park and Carolina Raptor Center. Head to The Candy Factory and SouthParkfor some retail therapy. Ocracoke is a census-designated place (CDP) and unincorporated town located at the southern end of Ocracoke Island, located entirely within Hyde County, North Carolina. Start off your visit on the 15th (Mon): look for gifts at Books to Be Red, then enjoy the sand and surf at Ocracoke Beach, and then hike along Hammock Hills Nature Trails. On the 16th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get great views at Outer Banks National Scenic Byway and then kick back and relax at Ocracoke Beach Fires.

Traveling by combination of car and ferry from Asheville to Ocracoke takes 10 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus, train, taxi, and ferry. Corolla

A trip to Corolla will add a bit of slow-paced fun to your Outer Banks holiday.
Start off your visit on the 17th (Wed): glide through the air with a parasailing or paragliding tour, then look for all kinds of wild species at Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education, and then pause for some serene contemplation at Historic Corolla Chapel.
