The town boasts many inns, motels, restaurants, and shops, although its most important feature is serving as the southern terminus of a scenic railway leading to the area's most famous tourist attraction, the World Heritage-listed Grand Canyon.

You can drive from Page to Williams in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of bus and train. Expect slightly colder temperatures when traveling from Page in October; daily highs in Williams reach 66°F and lows reach 36°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Sat) early enough to drive to Flagstaff.

You can drive from Williams to Flagstaff in an hour. Other options are to take a shuttle; or take a bus. In October in Flagstaff, expect temperatures between 65°F during the day and 33°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Mon) so you can take a bus to Sedona.

When traveling from Flagstaff in October, plan for a bit warmer days and warmer nights in Sedona: temperatures range from 77°F by day to 55°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Tombstone.

Founded in 1877 as a mining camp, Tombstone became one of the most storied towns of the "Wild West." As one of the last frontier boomtowns in the United States, Tombstone prospered between 1880 and 1890, attracting cattle rustlers and outlaws.

On the 16th (Wed), get engrossed in the history at O.K. Corral, then see the interesting displays at Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park, then stroll the grounds of Boothilll Graveyard, and finally take an unorthodox tour of Bird Cage Theatre. On your second day here, contemplate the long history of The Tombstone Epitaph, steep yourself in history at Allen Street, learn about winemaking at Silver Strike Winery, then take an in-depth tour of Tombstone's Historama, and finally stop by Arlene's S.W. Traveling by car from Sedona to Tombstone takes 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi, flight, and train; or do a combination of shuttle, flight, and train. Expect a daytime high around 80°F in October, and nighttime lows around 55°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 17th (Thu) so you can go by car to Phoenix.
