Phoenix is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. Start off your visit on the 23rd (Sat): see the interesting displays at Musical Instrument Museum, push the limits with an extreme tour, and then take in nature's colorful creations at Japanese Friendship Garden. One of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country, Tucson is a city on a cultural crossroads, with European, Native American, Mexican, and Asian residents blending and sometimes conflicting with one another.
Kick off your visit on the 25th (Mon): shop like a local with Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Mission San Xavier del Bac, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Augustine Cathedral. Keep things going the next day: see the interesting displays at Pima Air & Space Museum and then explore the stunning scenery at Sabino Canyon.
