Vero Beach

Vero Beach is a city in, and the seat of Indian River County, Florida, United States. Take a break from Vero Beach with a short trip to Jetty Park in Fort Pierce, about 32 minutes away. The iconic seaside destination of Daytona Beach once supported sugar mill plantations, but now entertains up to 8 million visitors a year.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Daytona Beach: Dolphin & Whale Watching (in New Smyrna Beach), Blue Spring State Park (in Orange City) and Stetson Mansion (in DeLand). You can drive from Merritt Island to Daytona Beach in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and bus. Traveling from Merritt Island in February, Daytona Beach is little chillier at night with lows of 52°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 5th (Fri) early enough to go by car back home.
