Once saddled with the reputation of being one of the country's dirtiest cities, Chattanooga now boasts a pedestrian-friendly downtown with a network of leafy waterfront trails and free electric shuttles.
Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Chateau Meichtry Family Vineyard and Winery and Bluff View Art District. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Chattanooga: Engelheim Vineyards (in Ellijay), Savannah Oaks Winery (in Delano) and Historic Western & Atlantic Railroad Tunnel (in Tunnel Hill). There's still lots to do: let the river carry you with a rafting and tubing tour, learn about winemaking at Lynchburg Winery, sample the fine beverages at Cascade Hollow Distilling Co., Home of George Dickel, and observe the fascinating underwater world at Tennessee Aquarium.

Traveling from New York City in June, you will find days in Chattanooga are somewhat warmer (89°F), and nights are about the same (68°F).
