Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.
Popular historic sites such as Cliff Palace and Balcony House are in your itinerary. Get in touch with nature at River Rafting & Tubing and Zipline. Located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Boulder is a busy college town known for its progressive values and natural resource conservation.
Kick off your visit on the 11th (Sat): identify plant and animal life at Humane Society of Boulder Valley, stroll around Colorado Chautauqua: Park, then trek along Flatirons, and finally explore the landscape on two wheels at Boulder Creek Path.
