Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.

Start off your visit on the 2nd (Tue): explore the world behind art at Denver Art Museum, take a stroll through 16th Street Mall, and then make a trip to Pearl Street Mall. On the next day, meet the residents at Denver Zoo, enjoy some music at Denver Museum of Nature & Science, then stop by Twist & Shout Records, and finally look for gifts at Tattered Cover Book Store.

Glenwood Springs occupies a scenic location at the junction of the Colorado River and the Roaring Fork River, halfway between Vail and Aspen along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.
Get in touch with nature at Maroon Bells and Aspen Snowmass. Step out of Glenwood Springs to go to Snowmass Village and see Snowmass Sports, which is approximately 54 minutes away. There's more to do: test the waters at a local thermal spa and have some family-friendly fun at Johnson's Park Miniature Golf.
