More than just a convenient resting place for travelers on their way to the national park encompassing the Front Range of the Rockies, Estes Park is a popular place to visit in its own right.
On the 11th (Sat), examine the collection at Red Rose Rock Shop & Dick's Rock Museum, do a tasting at Snowy Peaks Winery, take in the exciting artwork at Images of Rocky Mountain National Park, sample the fine beverages at Dancing Pines Distillery, then brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Elkins Distilling Co., and finally sample the tasty concoctions at Rock Cut Brewing Company. On your second day here, trek along Lily Lake Trailhead, look for all kinds of wild species at Sheep Lakes, trek along Tundra Communities Trail, then admire the verdant scenery at Many Parks Curve Overlook, and finally examine the collection at MacGregor Ranch Museum.

On the 13th (Mon), explore the ancient world of Far View Sites, hike along Spruce Canyon Trail, then examine the collection at Chapin Mesa Archeological Museum, then trek along Point Lookout Trail, and finally stroll through Knife Edge Trail.
