Orleans is a town in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, which is co-extensive with Cape Cod. Get a sense of the local culture at Chatham Marconi Maritime Center and Pilgrim Monument & Provincetown Museum. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Cape Cod National Seashore and Nauset Light Beach. Get out of town with these interesting Orleans side-trips: Long Point (in Provincetown) and Corn Hill Beach (in Truro). There's still lots to do: stroll through Nauset Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Marconi Beach, and steep yourself in history at First Encounter Beach.

Get a sense of the local culture at National Air and Space Museum and Antietam National Battlefield. Visit Washington National Cathedral and Georgetown University for their historical value.
