Sitting at an elevation of 2,135 m (7,000 ft) and just a short trip from the Grand Canyon and other natural wonders, the city of Flagstaff attracts outdoor enthusiasts from around the world.

Flagstaff is known for nature, childrens museums, and museums. Newark to Flagstaff is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Mountain Standard Time (MST), which is usually a -2 hour difference. Traveling from Newark in April, plan for a bit cooler nights in Flagstaff, with lows around 28°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Sun) to allow time to drive to Sedona.

Despite its relatively small size, Sedona overflows with tourist appeal.

Change things up with a short trip to Montezuma Castle National Monument in Camp Verde (about 42 minutes away). There's still lots to do: explore the striking landscape at Cathedral Rock, take in breathtaking views at Oak Creek Canyon, admire all the interesting features of Red Rock Scenic Byway (SR 179), and hike along Airport Mesa.

You can drive from Flagstaff to Sedona in an hour. Another option is to take a bus. Expect somewhat warmer temperatures when traveling from Flagstaff in April; daily highs in Sedona reach 72°F and lows reach 48°F. You will have some time to spend on the 19th (Sun) before leaving for home.
