In August, Grand Canyon National Park is cooler than Phoenix - with highs of 31°C and lows of 11°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Mon) to allow enough time to travel to Sedona.

Sedona

Despite its relatively small size, Sedona overflows with tourist appeal.
On the 21st (Mon), admire the majestic nature at Riordan Mansion State Historic Park and then delve into the lush surroundings at Coconino National Forest. Keep things going the next day: explore the striking landscape of Montezuma Well, stop by Trailhead Tea, and then hike along Doe Mountain Trail.

Drive from Grand Canyon National Park to Sedona in 2.5 hours. In August, Sedona is a bit warmer than Grand Canyon National Park - with highs of 37°C and lows of 22°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Wed) early enough to drive to Phoenix.

Phoenix

Phoenix is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. Get outdoors at Boyce Thompson Arboretum and Troon North Golf Club. Explore hidden gems such as Hole in the Rock and THE BOULDERS. Explore Phoenix's surroundings by going to Watson's Hat Shop (in Cave Creek), Mesa Market Place Swap Meet (in Mesa) and We-Ko-Pa Golf Club (in Fort McDowell). There's much more to do: pause for some photo ops at Tonto National Monument, browse the different shops at Scottsdale Fashion Square, admire the majestic nature at Lost Dutchman State Park, and wander the streets of Old Town Scottsdale.

Getting from Sedona to Phoenix by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: fly; or take a bus. Traveling from Sedona in August, expect Phoenix to be somewhat warmer, temps between 47°C and 33°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
