Visiting Blue Ridge Parkway and Newfound Gap Road will get you outdoors. Head to Barber Orchard Fruitstand and St.Claire Artfor some retail therapy. Venture out of the city with trips to Southern Hills Lavender (in Greer), Asheville (Highland Brewing Company, Lexington Glassworks, &more) and Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Alum Cave Trail & Clingmans Dome). There's much more to do: admire the sheer force of Falls Park on the Reedy, tour the pleasant surroundings at Oconaluftee River Trail, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Dark Corner Distillery, and do a tasting at Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards.
