Big Pineapple

In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Honolulu is known for historic sites, wildlife, and beaches. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: explore the different monuments and memorials at USS Arizona Memorial, kick back and relax at Waikiki Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Kapiolani Regional Park, and buy something for everyone on your list at Ala Moana Center.

To see more things to do, maps, and other tourist information, go to the Honolulu trip itinerary builder site.

Washington DC to Honolulu is an approximately 13-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 5 hours traveling from Washington DC to Honolulu. Traveling from Washington DC in November, expect Honolulu to be much hotter, temps between 84°F and 72°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Sun) so you can travel to Lahaina.

Crown Jewel of Maui

Once the booming capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the tropical paradise of Lahaina still remains one of Maui's top vacation attractions, providing both culture and recreation.
Get out of town with these interesting Lahaina side-trips: Makawao (Maui Pineapple Tours & Maui Veterans Cemetery), Iao Valley (in Wailuku) and Haleakala Crater (in Haleakala National Park). Spend the 23rd (Mon) exploring the striking scenery along Hana Highway - Road to Hana. There's much more to do: see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, test your team's savvy at Maui Escape Rooms, kick your exploration up a notch at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, and stop by Surf Ripper Shave Ice Co.

To find photos, reviews, traveler tips, and other tourist information, you can read our Lahaina online day trip planner.

Getting from Honolulu to Lahaina by flight takes about 3.5 hours. In November in Lahaina, expect temperatures between 81°F during the day and 71°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Thu) to allow time to travel to Hilo.

America's Wettest City

One of the island of Hawaii's major towns, Hilo contains a mix of Asian and Polynesian cultures and is known for its proximity to a national park encompassing two active volcanoes.

Here are some ideas for day two: learn more about the world around you at Mokupapapa Discovery Center, admire the natural beauty at Liliuokalani Gardens, then browse the fresh offerings at Hilo Farmers Market, then take in the dramatic scenery at Akaka Falls State Park, and finally stroll the grounds of Alae Cemetery.

Kailua-Kona, Island of Hawaii

Heart of the Kona Coast

Thanks to its favorable location near a mountain range blocking the northeasterly trade winds, Kailua-Kona gets little rainfall, allowing adventure seekers and nature lovers a chance to enjoy over 300 days of sunshine each year.
On the 29th (Sun), identify plant and animal life at Kona Cloud Forest and then get close to the beloved marine mammals with a swim-with-the-dolphins experience.

To find where to stay, maps, traveler tips, and tourist information, go to the Kailua-Kona day trip tool.

Getting from Hilo to Kailua-Kona by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 84°F in November, and nighttime lows around 73°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 30th (Mon) to allow time to travel back home.
