A small town with big ocean views, Captain Cook lies on top of an ancient fault line that was responsible for creating the nearby Kealakekua Bay thousands of years ago.

You can drive from Volcano to Captain Cook in 2 hours. Expect a daytime high around 81°F in February, and nighttime lows around 69°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Mon) so you can travel to Poipu.

Poipū is a census-designated place in Kauai County on the southern side of the island of Kauai in the U.S. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Na Pali Coast State Park and Kauai Path. Step out of the city life by going to Kalalau Trail and Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail. Go for a jaunt from Poipu to Lihue to see Wailua Falls about 32 minutes away.
