In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.

You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Diamond Head State Monument and Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Honolulu: Pu’u O Mahuka Heiau State Monument (in Pupukea), Kailua (Kailua Beach Park & Lanikai Beach) and Haleiwa (Sunset Beach Park & Waimea Bay). There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at USS Arizona Memorial, admire the masterpieces at Honolulu Museum of Art, explore the galleries of Iolani Palace, and don't miss a visit to Polynesian Cultural Center.
