Nestled in the heart of the valley formed by the Shenandoah River, Luray draws visitors with a vast underground cavern system adorned with stalactites, stalagmites, and mirrored pools.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Luray Hawksbill Greenway and Cedar Creek & Belle Grove National Historical Park Visitors Contact Station. Visiting Zipline and Hawksbill Mountain will get you outdoors. Get out of town with these interesting Luray side-trips: Shenandoah Valley Golf Club (in Front Royal), Desert Rose Ranch & Winery (in Hume) and R.H. Ballard Shop & Gallery (in Washington). The adventure continues: trek along Massanutten Storybook Trail, indulge your thirst for a good beer at Hawksbill Brewing Co, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at River Hill Wine & Spirits, and admire the sheer force of Overall Run Falls.
