The glaciers from which Glacier National Park takes its name mostly dissipated eons ago, but they left behind a scoured landscape of high and steep mountain peaks, sparkling lakes, lush alpine meadows, and thick forests.
Step out of the city life by going to Virginia Falls and Iceberg Lake Trail. Spend the 19th (Fri) exploring nature at Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park. There's lots more to do: explore the striking landscape at Grinnell Glacier, get to know the fascinating history of Garden Wall, admire the sheer force of St.Mary Falls, and explore and take pictures at Going-to-the-Sun Road.

New York City to Glacier National Park is an approximately 10.5-hour combination of bus, flight, and taxi. You can also do a combination of bus, flight, and car; or drive. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Mountain Standard Time (MST), which is usually a -2 hour difference. Traveling from New York City in July, Glacier National Park is colder at night with lows of 49°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Great Falls.

Gardiner serves as the gateway to Yellowstone National Park's northern entrance, marked by an iconic stone arch.

Bozeman is a city in and the county seat of Gallatin County, Montana, United States, in the southwestern part of the state. Get some cultural insight at Museum of the Rockies and American Computer Museum. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Angler's West Fly Fishing and Bozeman Public Library. There's still lots to do: take a tour by water with Boat Tours & Water Sports, get curious at Children's Museum of Bozeman, and sample the fine beverages at Bozeman Spirits Distillery.
