Albuquerque remains one of the state's secret jewels, as its tourist attractions are often overshadowed by the more popular holiday destination of Santa Fe.
New Mexico Steam Locomotive and Railroad Historical Society and Indian Pueblo Cultural Center will appeal to museum buffs. Albuquerque Old Town and Bandelier National Monument are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Change things up with a short trip to Sky City Cultural Center & Haak'u Museum in Pueblo of Acoma (about 1h 30 min away). It doesn't end there: take an in-depth tour of Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum and take in the spiritual surroundings of San Felipe de Neri Church.
