More than just one of the nation's top business centers, Columbus is a mixture of many different parts of America, situated at the spot where the so-called "Bible Belt" meets the varied cultures of the Great Plains and Appalachia.
Take a break from the city and head to The Wilds and Zipline. Visit Carillon Historical Park and Frank Lloyd Wright's Westcott House for their historical value. Explore Columbus' surroundings by going to Great Circle Earthworks (in Heath), National Museum of the US Air Force (in Dayton) and Conkles Hollow State Nature Preserve (in Rockbridge). There's still lots to do: take a stroll through Easton Town Center, examine the collection at Wagner-Hagans Auto Museum, contemplate the long history of German Village, and do a tasting at Wyandotte Winery.

Pittsburgh to Columbus is an approximately 3.5-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or fly. July in Columbus sees daily highs of 83°F and lows of 66°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Thu) to allow time to drive to Toledo.

Toledo is a city in and the county seat of Lucas County, Ohio, United States. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial and Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at The 577 Foundation and Providence Metropark. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Toledo: Put-in-Bay Winery (in Put in Bay) and Sauder Village (in Archbold). Start off your visit on the 15th (Mon): get engrossed in the history at Thomas Edison Birthplace, steep yourself in history at Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums, and then cool off at Cedar Point. Keep things going the next day: kick back and relax at Main Street Beach, then visit a coastal fixture at Marblehead Lighthouse State Park, and then contemplate the long history of Eleutheros Cooke House and Garden.
