A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Explore Portland's surroundings by going to Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum (in Hood River), Multnomah Falls (in Bridal Veil) and Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail (in Mosier). There's much more to do: stop by Powell's City of Books, take in nature's colorful creations at Lan Su Chinese Garden, admire the striking features of Pittock Mansion, and contemplate the waterfront views at Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.

Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from San Antonio to Portland. Traveling from San Antonio in March, expect Portland to be a bit cooler, temps between 57°F and 41°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 9th (Mon) so you can go by car to Cannon Beach.
