City of Roses

A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Portland: Astoria (Astoria Column & Columbia River Maritime Museum), Cannon Beach (Haystack Rock, Ecola State Park, &more) and Multnomah Falls (in Bridal Veil). Dedicate the 17th (Mon) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. On the 21st (Fri), get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Seattle Aquarium, enjoy breathtaking views from Space Needle, then explore the world behind art at Chihuly Garden and Glass, then wander the streets of Pike Place Market, and finally look for gifts at Chukar Cherries.
