Gateway to the Black Hills

South Dakota's second-largest city, Rapid City has for many years served as a gateway to the West.
Venture out of the city with trips to Custer (Iron Mountain Road, Needles Eye Tunnel, &more) and Keystone (Presidential Trail & Mount Rushmore National Memorial). On the 6th (Sun), explore the striking landscape of Badlands National Park. On your second day here, look for all kinds of wild species at Roberts Prairie Dog Town, take in the dramatic natural features at Badlands Wall, cruise along Loop Road, then explore the striking landscape at Panorama Point Overlook, then explore the striking landscape at Yellow Mounds Overlook, and finally take some stellar pictures from Pinnacles Overlook.
