Located less than an hour's drive north of San Francisco, Santa Rosa serves as a convenient hub for travelers on their way to the world-famous Napa Valley wine country.
Relax by the water at Gualala Point Regional Park and Bodega Dunes. Escape the urban bustle at Salt Point State Park and Armstrong Redwood State Reserve. Get out of town with these interesting Santa Rosa side-trips: Stinson Beach (in Stinson Beach), The City of Ten Thousand Buddhas (in Ukiah) and Muir Woods National Monument (in Mill Valley). Next up on the itinerary: identify plant and animal life at B Bryan Preserve, pick up some local products at Marin County Farmers' Market--San Rafael, enjoy the sand and surf at Sonoma Coast State Beach, and learn about winemaking at Castello di Amorosa.

To see more things to do, maps, photos, and other tourist information, refer to the Santa Rosa online attractions planner .

If you are flying in from Canada, the closest major airports are San Francisco International Airport, Metropolitan Oakland International Airport and Sacramento International Airport. In June in Santa Rosa, expect temperatures between 33°C during the day and 12°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 1st (Mon) early enough to travel back home.
