Theme Park Capital of the World

For most people, any mention of Orlando immediately conjures up images of sprawling theme parks filled with characters plucked right out of popular animated movies.
Get out of town with these interesting Orlando side-trips: DeLand (Stetson Mansion & Henry a. DeLand House Museum) and Equestrian Adventures of Florida (in Daytona Beach). Have a day of magic on the 29th (Wed) at Walt Disney World Resort. Pack the 28th (Tue) with family-friendly diversions at Universal's Islands of Adventure. There's still lots to do: get in on the family fun at Universal Orlando Resort, discover the magic at Magic Kingdom Park, and stop by Tharoo & Co.

You can drive from St. Petersburg to Orlando in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of bus and train. December in Orlando sees daily highs of 29°C and lows of 17°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Sun) so you can travel back home.
