New York City to Tallahassee is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. While traveling from New York City, expect somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Tallahassee, ranging from highs of 93°F to lows of 74°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Jacksonville.

The River City

The sprawling city of Jacksonville is not only Florida's most populous city, but also the largest city by land area in the continental United States.
Get outdoors at Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary and St. Augustine Beach. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Atlantic Beach and Andy Romano Beachfront Park. Venture out of the city with trips to St. Augustine (St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum, Inc., Flagler College, &more), Fernandina Beach (Fort Clinch State Park & Fish Amelia Island) and Atlantic Beach (in Atlantic Beach). Next up on the itinerary: enjoy the sand and surf at Beach at Daytona Beach, identify plant and animal life at Georgia Sea Turtle Center, get to know the resident critters at Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens, and wander the streets of San Marco Historic District.

Drive from Tallahassee to Jacksonville in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or fly. In August, plan for daily highs up to 91°F, and evening lows to 73°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 24th (Wed) early enough to catch the flight back home.
