The largest city on the Mississippi River, Memphis bills itself as both the "Birthplace of Rock" and "Home of the Blues." With such a rich musical heritage, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Elvis Presley chose to live in Memphis during his later years.
On the 23rd (Wed), don't miss a visit to Graceland and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Bellevue Baptist Church. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: appreciate the extensive heritage of Beale Street, look for gifts at Memphis Music, pause for some photo ops at National Civil Rights Museum - Lorraine Motel, steep yourself in history at The Peabody Ducks, then contemplate the long history of Sun Studio, and finally learn more about the world around you at Ducks Unlimited Waterfowling Heritage Center.

Visit Lotz House Museum and Downtown Franklin for their historical value. Get a sense of the local culture at Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and Andrew Jackson's Hermitage. Step out of Nashville to go to Murfreesboro and see Stones River National Battlefield, which is approximately 42 minutes away.
