A culturally diverse city situated on the shores of Lake Erie, Cleveland boasts many places to visit, such as world-class museums, popular amusement parks, and sprawling recreational areas.
Kick off your visit on the 5th (Thu): examine the collection at Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, explore the world behind art at The Cleveland Museum of Art, then examine the collection at A Christmas Story House, and finally appreciate the history behind Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument.

A huge and vibrant city, Chicago is home to top-notch theaters, shops, museums, galleries, and restaurants.
On the 6th (Fri), admire all the interesting features of Millennium Park, trek along Cowles Bog, and then immerse yourself in nature at Indiana Dunes State Park. Keep things going the next day: grab your bike and head to Lakefront Trail, admire the masterpieces at The Art Institute of Chicago, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Michigan.

Fly from Cleveland to Chicago in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight, bus, and subway; or drive. The second largest city in Michigan and a hub of furniture manufacturing, Grand Rapids bears the nickname "Furniture City." However, the destination's original name came from the rapids of the Grand River that once ran through the downtown area.
Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Gilmore Car Museum and White River Light Station Museum. Take a break from the city and head to Millennium Park and Rainbow Ranch. Explore Grand Rapids' surroundings by going to Rosy Mound Natural Area (in Grand Haven), Silver Lake State Park (in Mears) and Muskegon (USS LST 393, Hackley and Hume Historic Site, & more). There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Gerald R. Ford Museum, fly down the slopes at Cannonsburg Ski & Ride Area, and shop like a local with Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (UICA).

Founded in 1701 by a French explorer and adventurer, Detroit exerted a profound impact on the world for most of the 20th century.
Kick off your visit on the 12th (Thu): steep yourself in history at Motown Museum. On your second day here, see the interesting displays at Greenfield Village, then examine the collection at The Henry Ford, then steep yourself in history at The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant, and finally explore and take pictures at Comerica Park.
