Step off the beaten path and head to Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center and Museum of Colorado Prisons. Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center and Penrose Heritage Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Step out of Colorado Springs with an excursion to Mueller State Park in Divide--about 42 minutes away. There's still lots to do: trek along Seven Bridges Trail, stroll around North Cheyenne Canon Park, have some family-friendly fun at Battlefield Colorado, and steep yourself in history at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site.
