Honeymoon Capital of the World

The city of Niagara Falls houses the U.S. half of the famous waterfall that straddles the border between Canada and the United States.
Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Fri): hike along Niagara Gorge Trail, then see the interesting displays at Niagara Power Project Visitors Center, and then hike along Devil's Hole State Park. On the 3rd (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: go for a walk through Goat Island and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Niagara Wine Trail USA.

Alexandria to Niagara Falls is an approximately 8.5-hour car ride. You can also fly; or drive; or do a combination of subway and bus. In October, Niagara Falls is little chillier than Alexandria - with highs of 63°F and lows of 46°F. You'll have a few hours on the 4th (Sun) to wrap things up before traveling to Barre.

Franconia is a town in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. Do some cultural sightseeing at Flume Gorge and The Frost Place. Kids will enjoy Franconia Notch and Echo Lake Beach.
