Known primarily for its steel-related heritage and 446 bridges, Pittsburgh sits at the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers, which meet to form the Ohio River.
On the 12th (Wed), take in the awesome beauty at Mount Washington, then meet the residents at National Aviary, then look for gifts at Pennsylvania Macaroni Company, and finally wander the streets of The Strip District.

The capital city of Virginia, Richmond has diverse architecture, a large collection of monuments, and world-class museums that reveal the city's important role in American history.
Step off the beaten path and head to High Bridge Trail State Park and The Hague Winery. Visit Historic Jamestowne and Fan District for their historical value. Change things up with these side-trips from Richmond: General's Ridge Vineyard and Winery (in Hague), Cooper Vineyards (in Louisa) and Mattaponi Springs Golf Club (in Ruther Glen). There's still lots to do: experience rural life at Maymont, grab your bike and head to Virginia Capital Trail, and learn about winemaking at Cunningham Creek Winery & Farm Store.
