The first national park east of the Mississippi River, Acadia National Park draws visitors with its rugged landscape of ocean shoreline, low-slung granite mountains, dense woodlands, and pristine lakes.

Maine's biggest and perhaps most vibrant city, Portland was established as a fishing village in 1633 and grew to become New England's largest port.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Pemaquid Point Lighthouse and Wadsworth-Longfellow House. Get outdoors at Old Orchard Beach and Boothbay Region Land Trust. There's much more to do: sample the tasty concoctions at Allagash Brewery, cast your line with a fishing tour, grab your bike and head to Beth Condon Pathway, and wander the streets of Old Port.
