Get some historical perspective at Washington National Cathedral and George Washington's Mount Vernon. National Air and Space Museum and Arlington National Cemetery are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Change things up with a short trip to National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle (about 48 minutes away).
