Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
On the 8th (Fri), stop by Elliott Bay Book Company, then enjoy breathtaking views from Space Needle, and then explore the world behind art at Chihuly Garden and Glass. Keep things going the next day: examine the collection at The Museum of Flight, admire the masterpieces at Seattle Art Museum, and then take a stroll through Pike Place Market.

Newark to Seattle is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight; or drive. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time to Pacific Standard Time, which is usually a -3 hour difference. In February, Seattle is a bit warmer than Newark - with highs of 50°F and lows of 40°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Sat) early enough to travel to San Francisco.
