A genuine cowboy city, Cody is famous for its nightly rodeos and its proximity to the protected wilderness areas of the world's first national park, now designated as one of the country's World Heritage Sites.
Start off your visit on the 2nd (Fri): take an in-depth tour of Buffalo Bill Center of the West, see the interesting displays at Plains Indian Museum, and then examine the collection at Cody Dug Up Gun Museum. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: see the interesting displays at Tecumseh's Old West Miniature Village and Museum and then fly down the slopes at Beartooth Basin.

Drive from Yellowstone National Park to Cody in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In April, Cody is a bit warmer than Yellowstone National Park - with highs of 53°F and lows of 32°F. On the 3rd (Sat), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
