Founded in 1877 as a mining camp, Tombstone became one of the most storied towns of the "Wild West." As one of the last frontier boomtowns in the United States, Tombstone prospered between 1880 and 1890, attracting cattle rustlers and outlaws.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Queen Mine Tour and Allen Street. When in Tombstone, make a side trip to see Kartchner Caverns State Park in Benson, approximately Benson away. There's lots more to do: get engrossed in the history at Bisbee Mining & Historical Museum, view the masterpieces at Quarles Art Gallery, take an unorthodox tour of Bird Cage Theatre, and see the interesting displays at Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park.
