Live Music Capital of the World

Despite its laid-back college vibe, Austin is an influential center for politics, technology, film, and music.
Visiting Congress Avenue Bridge / Austin Bats and Lady Bird Lake Hike-and-Bike Trail will get you outdoors. Get some historical perspective at Texas State Capitol and The Alamo. Get out of town with these interesting Austin side-trips: Becker Vineyards (Winery) (in Stonewall), Hye (Garrison Brothers Distillery & Calais Winery) and Fredericksburg (National Museum of the Pacific War, Grape Creek Vineyards, &more). There's much more to do: visit 6th Street, take a stroll through South Congress Avenue, explore the landscape on two wheels at Barton Creek Greenbelt, and take in the history at Mission San Jose.
