When traveling from San Francisco in August, plan for somewhat warmer days and little chillier nights in Yosemite National Park: temperatures range from 32°C by day to 7°C at night. On the 24th (Sat), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel to Big Sur.

Start off your visit on the 25th (Sun): steep yourself in history at Old Mission Santa Barbara, admire the masterpieces at Santa Barbara Museum of Art, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Carpinteria State Beach, and finally explore and take pictures at State Street Underpass. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Los Angeles.
