Divided into neighborhoods with distinct characters and cultural heritages, San Diego sits just north of the Mexican border and offers visitors a blend of tourist attractions, including a lively nightlife, diverse cuisine, and a thriving musical scene.
Start off your visit on the 5th (Sun): take in the exciting artwork at Spanish Village Art Center and then enjoy the sand and surf at La Jolla Cove. On the next day, explore the galleries of Maritime Museum of San Diego and then meet the residents at San Diego Zoo.

Surrounded by mountain ranges, forests, valleys, beaches, and deserts, the metropolitan area of Los Angeles is home to over 17 million people.
Get some cultural insight at The Getty Center and Santa Monica Pier. Shop till you drop at Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Montana Avenue. Take a break from Los Angeles with a short trip to Disneyland Park in Anaheim, about 30 minutes away. The adventure continues: look and learn at Griffith Observatory, look for gifts at Hollywood & Highland, enjoy the sand and surf at Venice Beach and Boardwalk, and buy something for everyone on your list at The Grove.

Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Ansel Adams Gallery and Yosemite Museum Gallery. Take a break from the city and head to Tuolumne Meadows and Glacier Point. Next up on the itinerary: hike along Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, take in the awesome beauty at Cathedral Beach Picnic Area, tour the pleasant surroundings at Panorama Trail, and take in the dramatic natural features at Taft Point.

You can do a combination of flight and car from Los Angeles to Yosemite National Park in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of flight and bus. Traveling from Los Angeles in July, plan for colder nights in Yosemite National Park, with lows around 46°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Mon) so you can go by car to San Francisco.
