Carmel-by-the-Sea, often simply called Carmel, is a city in Monterey County, California, United States, founded in 1902 and incorporated on October 31, 1916. Visit Capitola Beach and Seacliff State Beach for some beach relaxation. Visiting Pebble Beach Golf Links and New Brighton State Beach will get you outdoors. There's still lots to do: explore the landscape on two wheels at Monterey Peninsula Recreational Trail, do a tasting at Silvestri Vineyards, admire the architecture and history at San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo Mission, and appreciate the history behind The Cannery Row Monument.
