Originally built as a base for Vail Ski Resort, the town of Vail has blossomed into its own destination, but still has less than 6,000 permanent residents.
On the 4th (Sat), tour the pleasant surroundings at Beaver Creek Ski Area and then take a pleasant ride with a tour on horseback. On the 5th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: hit the slopes at Copper Mountain and then sample the fine beverages at 10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirit Company.
