Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
You'll explore and learn at Chihuly Garden and Glass and The Museum of Flight. Take a break from the city and head to Hiram M. Chittenden Locks and Mercer Slough Nature Park. Get out of town with these interesting Seattle side-trips: Edmonds (Picnic Point Park & Brackett's Landing South), Issaquah (Friends of Issaquah Salmon Hatchery & Duthie Hill Park) and Woodinville (Patterson Cellars & Brightwater Center). And it doesn't end there: take a stroll through Pike Place Market, pause for some photo ops at Fremont Troll, look for all kinds of wild species at Lake Wilderness Arboretum, and admire all the interesting features of Safeco Field.
