Honolulu, Oahu — 5 nights

In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Honolulu: Kailua Beach Park (in Kailua), Haleiwa (Sunset Beach Park & Waimea Bay) and Pu’u O Mahuka Heiau State Monument (in Pupukea). The adventure continues: stroll through Diamond Head State Monument, contemplate the long history of Battleship Missouri Memorial, contemplate the waterfront views at Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, and enjoy the sand and surf at Waikiki Beach.

Charlotte to Honolulu is an approximately 10.5-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 5 hours traveling from Charlotte to Honolulu. Traveling from Charlotte in June, plan for a bit warmer nights in Honolulu, with lows around 74°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 19th (Sun) so you can catch the flight to Lahaina.

Lahaina, Maui — 3 nights

Once the booming capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the tropical paradise of Lahaina still remains one of Maui's top vacation attractions, providing both culture and recreation.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Lahaina: Wailuku (Iao Valley & Maui Tropical Plantation). Spend the 22nd (Wed) exploring the striking scenery along Hana Highway - Road to Hana. Traveling by flight from Honolulu to Lahaina takes 2.5 hours. In June in Lahaina, expect temperatures between 84°F during the day and 72°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Wed) to allow time to fly to Hilo.

Hilo, Island of Hawaii — 2 nights

One of the island of Hawaii's major towns, Hilo contains a mix of Asian and Polynesian cultures and is known for its proximity to a national park encompassing two active volcanoes.
On the 23rd (Thu), cruise along Devastation Trail, then hike along Kilauea Iki Trailhead, then get outside with Keanakakoi Crater Overlook, and finally examine the collection at Jagger Museum. On the 24th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get curious at Mokupapapa Discovery Center, take in nature's colorful creations at Liliuokalani Gardens, browse the fresh offerings at Hilo Farmers Market, tour the pleasant surroundings at Hawaii Tropical Bioreserve and Garden, then admire the majestic nature at Akaka Falls State Park, and finally admire the sheer force of Rainbow Falls.

You can fly from Lahaina to Hilo in 2.5 hours. In June in Hilo, expect temperatures between 83°F during the day and 69°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 24th (Fri) so you can drive to Kailua-Kona.

Kailua-Kona, Island of Hawaii — 2 nights

Thanks to its favorable location near a mountain range blocking the northeasterly trade winds, Kailua-Kona gets little rainfall, allowing adventure seekers and nature lovers a chance to enjoy over 300 days of sunshine each year.
