Honolulu, Oahu — 5 nights

In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Honolulu: Kailua Beach Park (in Kailua), Haleiwa (Sunset Beach Park & Waimea Bay) and Pu’u O Mahuka Heiau State Monument (in Pupukea). The adventure continues: stroll through Diamond Head State Monument, contemplate the long history of Battleship Missouri Memorial, contemplate the waterfront views at Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, and enjoy the sand and surf at Waikiki Beach.

Charlotte to Honolulu is an approximately 10.5-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 5 hours traveling from Charlotte to Honolulu. Traveling from Charlotte in June, plan for a bit warmer nights in Honolulu, with lows around 74°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 19th (Sun) so you can catch the flight to Lahaina.

Once the booming capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the tropical paradise of Lahaina still remains one of Maui's top vacation attractions, providing both culture and recreation.

One of the island of Hawaii's major towns, Hilo contains a mix of Asian and Polynesian cultures and is known for its proximity to a national park encompassing two active volcanoes.
On the 23rd (Thu), cruise along Devastation Trail, then hike along Kilauea Iki Trailhead, then get outside with Keanakakoi Crater Overlook, and finally examine the collection at Jagger Museum.
