In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Step off the beaten path and head to Lanikai Beach and Ko Olina Lagoons. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Honolulu: Pupukea (Shark's Cove & Pu’u O Mahuka Heiau State Monument). And it doesn't end there: kick back and relax at Waikiki Beach, explore the activities along Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and stroll through Diamond Head State Monument.

Denver to Honolulu is an approximately 8.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Mountain Standard Time (MST) to Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time (HST), which is usually a -3 hour difference. Traveling from Denver in August, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 75°F in Honolulu. Cap off your sightseeing on the 13th (Sun) early enough to catch the flight to Koloa.

On the 14th (Mon), take in the dramatic scenery at Wailua Falls, surround yourself with nature on Kauai Safaris, and then discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour. On the 15th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: kick back and relax at Poipu Beach Park, then stroll through Shipwreck Beach, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail.

Hanalei is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kauai County, Hawaii, United States. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Scuba & Snorkeling and Kalalau Trail.
